Natali Masters will perform in The Marriage of Figaro at Malone University (Canton, OH)

The Department of Music - Opera Theatre will present The Marriage of Figaro April 4-5, 7:30 p.m. in the Stewart Room of the Randall Campus Center, located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. General admission is $12 ($5 for Malone University students) and can be ordered online here or by calling 330.471.8231.

The performance will be an abridged version of Mozart's work with adapted English dialogue set in the 1920s, "Downton Abbey" style, and will be the University's first full opera in four acts.

Returning to the Malone University stage for the Saturday performance will be Laurel Weir, a 2013 music alumna, in a special guest appearance as Countess Almaviva. Miss Weir also recently performed at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center.

Natali Masters, a sophomore music production major from Las Cruces, New Mexico will be performing in the role of Barbarina on Friday and Saturday.

Patrick Wickliffe, adjunct professor, will perform as collaborative pianist. Jim Brothers, technical director, is the creative force behind the set design. Malone University opera theatre is under the artistic and musical direction of Cynthia Wohlschlager, lecturer of music.
