Andrew Rearick Presents Honors Thesis at Malone University (Canton, Ohio)

2013 May 28

Seven members of Malone University honors program recently presented their senior thesis projects. The students each selected an area of study about which to research, write, and prepare and deliver an oral presentation to which the entire University community was invited. The Honors Program at Malone University exists to support Malone's intellectually gifted and highly motivated students as they respond to Christ's call to love God with heart, soul, strength, and mind and as they move to transform themselves and their world as followers of Jesus Christ. Honors Program students participate in both curricular and co-curricular activities. Sections of particular general education courses are open to honors students only. Small in size, these classes encourage critical and creative thinking and interactive learning.

The senior-level thesis is developed over two semesters, and is an independent study with a faculty member of the student's choice. Thesis projects can be traditional research or creative expression and represent advanced work not attempted in traditional courses.

Andrew Rearick, a senior biology major from New Cumberland, Pennsylvania (17070), recently participated with an honors thesis entitled Analysis of Apoptosis Induction by UV Light in Sf9 Cells.
